2016 Performing Artists
Albino Mbie is an award-winning musician from Mozambique. He has a unique Afro-pop/Afro-jazz sound that blends his own Mozambican voice, language, dance, music and culture with world music. In 2013, Mbie released his debut album, Mozambican Dance, for which he won the Ngoma Moçambique award, as “revelation” artist. That year, he also won first place in an international song writing competition. In 2014, Radio France International nominated him as one of the best upcoming African artist. Recently, Mbie performed for President of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, in New York. You can visit him on Facebook.

Add a touch of social commentary and self-deprecating humor, and you have a musical experience that’s both entertaining and evocative.

Roberto & Kathryn is an exciting vocal jazz/guitar duo most often compared to Tuck & Patti, featuring Kathryn Howell, Lead Vocals, and Roberto Mighty, Guitar and Vocals. Roberto & Kathryn sing standards from the Great American Songbook with intense intimacy, mixing in originals and funky takes on classic rock hits.
Only the Finest includes up and coming musicians from the Berklee College of Music. They have performed at various festivals throughout Boston and are extremely versatile, playing anything from jazz, blues, and pop to Latin, soul, and funk.
The Space Between is a rock (and roll!) band from Boston. Drawing on influences from the blues, the British Invasion, and present-day stylings, the Space Between falls into the gap of what came before and what has yet to come.
